Scientific Collaborations
Transforming Science Into Stories Through Art.

Vincent Devine is an Irish artist working at the intersection of fine art and medical science. Through detailed, symbolic, and emotionally charged paintings, he gives visual form to the invisible: genetic mutations, ancient diseases, cellular architecture, and the resilience of the human spirit in the face of illness.

His work has become a bridge between researchers and the public, turning scientific complexity into compelling visual stories. Collaborating with institutions such as University College Dublin, AICRI, and international health advocates, Devine’s paintings explore not only what science can see — but what patients feel.

COLLABORATION  &  PROCESS

Each of these paintings begins with a conversation — between artist and researcher, between science and story, between data and emotion.

Vincent Devine’s process is rooted in collaboration. Whether working with biomedical researchers, cancer institutes, patient advocates, or pharmaceutical teams, his approach is both intuitive and deeply informed. He listens, researches, and translates complex subject matter into compelling, symbolic compositions that invite deeper reflection.

1.DISCOVERY & CONSULTATION

We begin with a discussion to explore your goals, subject matter, audience, and desired tone or message. Whether based on a specific research project, patient story, or broader theme, this stage builds the foundation.

2. RESEARCH & IMMERSION

Vincent studies relevant material — research papers, scientific models, personal testimonies — and often liaises directly with experts to ensure accuracy and sensitivity in the conceptual stage.

3. CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT

Initial sketches, symbolism maps, and potential compositions are presented for feedback. This is a collaborative moment to align vision, ensure clarity, and refine direction.

4. PAINTING & EXECUTION

The final artwork is created using high-quality materials (typically acrylic on canvas or panel). This stage can be documented if required for process-based storytelling, exhibitions, or campaigns.

5. DELIVERY & PRESENTATION

The completed artwork is delivered ready to exhibit or archive, accompanied by explanatory materials or bespoke PDFs. Vincent is also available to speak at launches or conferences to contextualize the work.

“Every project is unique — but the aim is always the same: to create something that resonates, educates, and inspires.”
